Expanding and Protecting the Workforce

Landscape professionals perform a multitude of functions in the office and in the field and are the backbone of the landscape industry. The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) is committed to relentlessly advocate on behalf of the industry to expand the workforce through guest worker programs during seasonal fluctuations while also expanding opportunities through federal and state programs which assist in training and growing the industry.

In addition to expanding the workforce, the landscape industry is committed to keeping our workers safe while ensuring rigorous compliance with federal and state industry safety regulations.

NALP is regularly engaging Congress and the Administration (Department of Labor, Department of Homeland Security and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to protect industry interests.

Areas where NALP is currently actively engaged include:

  • H-2B visa guest worker reform
  • Comprehensive immigration reform
  • OSHA compliance assistance and oversight of OSHA regulatory rule making
  • Expanding apprenticeship opportunities and other programs that can grow the workforce
